Live case law is retrieved via the Indian Kanoon API, alongside a growing bulk corpus from AWS Open Data — roughly 17.8M High Court and 35k Supreme Court judgments, released under CC-BY-4.0. Every authority is attributed to the deciding court or tribunal, not the channel it came through. Indian judgments are public domain under s.52(1)(q) of the Copyright Act.

No. Clauselex is a research and drafting tool, not a lawyer and not a substitute for professional judgment. It helps you find and cite authority faster, but you remain responsible for the work. Always open and verify every citation before you file or rely on it.

The litigation journey maps deterministic High-Court-to-Supreme-Court appeal chains, and treatment analysis classifies how later judgments cite a case — followed, distinguished, criticized, overruled or neutral — each with a real snippet. Red “overruled” flags are dual-gated, requiring both explicit overruling language and sufficient bench strength, so you don’t get false alarms.
